The Swaddle
The Client
Initially focused on delivering well-researched, myth-busting information on women's health, pregnancy, and child-rearing, The Swaddle has evolved into a digital publication and production house that delves into and debates medical, social, cultural, and political issues of significance.
The Brief
WR was commissioned to develop a suite of website header illustrations for each category of articles pertaining to pre and post-pregnancy care.
The Thinking
The Visual Approach
To emphasise the no-nonsense, common sense nature of the content, we chose to keep the subject of the illustrations quite literal. We treaded the line between realism and whimsy - with elements unusually composed, cropped and stylised to add interest and personality to each illustration. The Swaddle colour palette of tints and shades of mauve and purple kept the illustrations well on-brand.
